Pine Straw vs Ferro Rod – Natural Fire Tinder

A while back I did a “One Axe Fire” video where I used a feather stick and ferro rod to start a fire (barely). I got several comments asking why I didn’t use the pine straw which was all around me as a fire starter. I honestly didn’t think it would work very well at all with a ferro rod. Since so many folks questioned that I decided to test it for myself.
